Norix Furniture employees are proud to have volunteered at the Northern Illinois Food Bank through the Norix Gives charitable giving program on December 29. Four employees plus their family members packed a total of 237 boxes with 24 boxes of crackers in each. They also sorted and repacked donated potatoes into five pound bags for distribution to food banks throughout northern Illinois.

“I had volunteered at the food bank with my husband’s company and saw how many people in our community are hungry and in need of food,” Lucy Orr, Norix Programmer/Analyst, said. “I thought this would help those families especially during the holidays.”

The Norix effort provided 3,555 pounds of food, providing 2,962 to those in need.
