An Ohio behavioral healthcare facility that this year completed a $68 million renovation of its facilities that began in July 2013, recently installed multiple Norix Furniture products in common areas and patient rooms. Northcoast Behavioral Healthcare, located in Northfield, OH, finished construction that made improvements to existing facilities and expanded the hospital by more than 100,000 square feet, including the addition of patient units and recreational, clinical and dietary areas, according to its website.

As part of the renovation, the facility purchased behavioral healthcare furniture from Norix that humanizes facilities that often have been institutional in nature. The furniture, which comes in the colors of nature, is more residential than typical BHC products and helps in the healing process by normalizing facilities, calming the equilibrium and reducing stress, among other benefits.

Comfort Shield® Remedy Sealed Seam Mattress – These mattresses feature 100 percent sealed seams that are radio frequency welded and guaranteed not to break – for enhanced hygiene, security and durability.

X-Base Tables – These tables feature high quality laminate surfaces with an edge that is pressure fused to the core with a specially formulated, highly durable molded urethane material. The permanently affixed edge has a radius profile for safety and comfort making it exceptional for food service applications.

Oasis Cafeteria Tables – Oasis’ innovative swivel seats allow easy access and provide the comfort of full lumbar support. The molded polyethylene seat shells are durable and easy to clean. Seats attach securely to reinforced, heavy-duty swivel plates with all-steel, tamper-resistant connections.

Leg Style Tables – These tables feature 4 inch diameter 14 gauge tubular steel legs that are fully welded to 1/4 inch steel mounting plates, making this an incredibly strong, stable and durable table. Optional 2 ½ inch legs provide an attractive residential alternative.
